Ceremony Sample #1.

We are here to celebrate the miracle of love. Groom and Bride have found that miracle in each other and now desire to share their love all the days of their lives. Groom and Bride are here today, with their family and friends, to declare publicly their love for one another, and to be joined in marriage.

This is much more than a social and civil occasion, because it is the declaration of their hearts, built upon experience, and enriched by their love. With love it is possible to live a life together, each seeking and encouraging the joy, the comfort, the health, and the enrichment of the other, all of which will divide sorrow and multiply satisfactions.

Groom and Bride Are both of you willing to give your hand to the one whose heart you hold?

Both answer) yes, we are.

Marriage is a commitment to life, to the best that two people can find and bring out in each other. It offers opportunities for sharing and growth that no other human relationship can equal, it is promised for a lifetime. Within the circle of its love, marriage encompasses all of life’s most important relationships.

A wife and a husband are each other’s best friend, teacher, listener and critic. Marriage deepens and enriches every facet of life. Happiness is fuller, memories are fresher, commitment is stronger, even anger is felt more strongly and passes away more quickly.

Marriage understands and forgives mistakes life is unable to avoid. It encourages and nurtures new life, new experiences and new ways of expressing love through the season of life.

When two people pledge to love and care for each other in marriage, they create a spirit unique to themselves, which binds them closer than any spoken or written words. Marriage is a promise, a potential made in the hearts of two people who love, which takes a lifetime to fulfill.

Life together will sometimes be playful and effortless; sometimes frustrating and difficult. Each day your relationship will strengthen if you choose to continue to love and honor one another.

The step, which you are about to take, is the most important into which human beings can come into. It is a union of two people founded upon mutual respect and affection. Your lives will change; your responsibilities will increase but your joy will be multiplied if you are sincere and earnest with your pledge to one another. If you truly love you will always be loyal to one another.

No matter what the cost always believe in one another; always expect the best of one another and above all else; always support one another in everyday living.

Family and friends you are witnesses to the union of two individuals who choose to commit to a life together. Your responsibility as their friends and witnesses is to provide them as a couple with your love; support and approval.

Groom and Bride by this ceremony you will become husband and wife; but the soul of your marriage depends on the constant renewal of the choices and promises out of love for one another you make today.

READING:

The Key to Love,

The key to love is understanding …
as it is the little things that say so much by themselves.
The key to love is forgiveness ….
to accept each others faults and pardon mistakes,
The key to love is sharing …
Sharing and acing your good fortunes as well as the bad, together ;
both conquering problems, forever searching for ways
to intensify your happiness.
The key to love is giving …
Giving without thought of return,
but with the hope of just a simple smile,
and by giving in but never giving up.
The key to love is respect …
Respect realizing that you are two separate people, with different ideas;
that you don’t belong to each other ,
that you belong with each other, and share a mutual bond.
The key to love is inside us all …
It takes time and patience to unlock all the ingredients
that will take you to its threshold;
it is the continual learning process that demands a lot of work …
but the rewards are more than worth the effort …
and that is the key to love.

DECLARATION

Groom and Bride,

You have spoken your promises to each other –
and you have exchanged rings as signs of your commitment to each other.

And now, by the authority vested in me by the Province of Ontario, I do now declare that you have married one another in the presence of these witnesses, and that you are now … husband and wife.

You may share your first kiss as a married couple!

YOU MAY NOW KISS YOUR BRIDE: Presentation of Couple:

Ceremony Sample #5.

Today is a celebration.

A celebration of love, of commitment, of friendship, of family, and of two people who are in it for forever.

You don’t have to have a ceremony to have a marriage.

And when you think about it, the whole thing is kind of weird, right?

You’re standing on in front of a lot of people, looking fancy, holding flowers, and being stared at by pretty much everyone who has meant anything to you.

So why do we do it?

The marriage ceremony has been an important feature across nearly every culture, religion, generation, and society.

We have thousands of important moments that happen throughout our lives, but this one is regarded as one so critical, we acknowledge its special status by sharing it with others.

Why this moment?

Because despite all of our differences, love is what we all share.

It’s the great unifier – our one universal truth.

That no matter who we are, where we’ve come from, what we believe, we know this one thing: love is what we’re doing right.

That’s why you are both standing here.

And that’s why you all are here to watch them stand up here.

We have all loved in our lifetimes, and in this moment, we’re reminded that the ability to love is the very best part of our humanity.

All of us here today have our own love stories.

Some are short, others long.

Some are yet unwritten, while others are just getting to the good part.

There are chapters in all of our stories that are sad or disappointing – and others that are exciting and full of adventure.

[Insert love story here]

And that brings them here, a time to pause, look back, and smile at all the moments that brought them here.

And a time to look ahead to all the moments that are still to come.

I’m here – we’re all here – because we want those moments for you.

We’re here to hope with you, to support you, to be proud of you, and to remind you that love isn’t happily ever after, love is the experience of writing your story.

It’s not one moment – not even this moment. It’s every moment.

Big ones like saying “I love you,” moving in together, getting engaged – but mostly a million little ones that come in between the big moments.

Falling asleep next to one another, making dinner together, spending holidays with your families, getting a big hug when you get home from work…

These everyday moments fuse together into one big experience.

And even though this experience is so incredible, words fail us when we try and explain it.

That’s just the way it is with love – it’s meant to be felt, not described.

But trying to describe love is one of our favorite pastimes.

We use the words we have to write stories, and poems, and songs about love.

And even though we describe love in different ways – and even though love can look different from one person to the next – we all know it when we see it.

And we see it here.

Proclamation of Intent :

This is a new beginning for both of you and I’d like to offer some gentle reminders to ease your life-long task of living and growing together.

Be kind to each other.

And, when you disagree, do it respectfully.

Be gentle and forgiving with each other.

When you forgive, your hearts make room for a little more love, a little more understanding and a little more compassion.

Communicate with each other.

Share the joy that’s in your heart and the sorrow that burdens your soul.

Open your hearts to each other and find the love.

Do you, GROOM, welcome BRIDE as your wife, offering her your love and encouragement, your trust and respect, as together you create your future?

GROOM says, I do”.

Do you, BRIDE welcome GROOM as your husband, offering him your love and encouragement, your trust and respect, as together you create your future

BRIDE says, I do”.

Vows : You will be saying your own-

Ring Exchange :

GROOM, as you place the ring on BRIDE’s finger, please repeat after me:
With this ring, I marry you and bind my life to yours.
It is a symbol of my eternal love,
My everlasting friendship,
And the promise of all my tomorrows.

BRIDE, as you place the ring on GROOM’s finger, please repeat after me:
With this ring, I marry you and bind my life to yours.
It is a symbol of my eternal love,
My everlasting friendship,
And the promise of all my tomorrows.

Signing of the marriage license:

Throughout this ceremony, BRIDE and GROOM have vowed, in our presence, to be loyal and loving towards each other.

They have formalized the existence of the bond between them with words spoken and with the giving and receiving of rings.

Therefore, it is my pleasure to now pronounce them husband and wife.

You may now kiss your bride!
